(Her Legal Professional Journey -- So Far)

Nancy is semi-retired (finally!) and since the pandemic, she continues to primarily work via Zoom for her coaching, workshops and individual conferences.  Her vast experience as an office management, strategic planning and business development consultant, mediator and attorney serves Nancy well in her work with law firms attorneys and staff, small business leaders, families and individuals nationwide.
As a solutions and change facilitator and CLE speaker and coach, she has presented many unique workshops and seminars nationwide. Her presentations and writings include: Rekindling the passion of lawyering and recharging personnel productivity and enthusiasm; law office management; risk management; how to conduct a self-audit of your office; simplified strategic planning; conflict resolution; career development and transitions; succession planning, law firm mergers; stress and time management; employee and; quality of life topics. In years past, Nancy wrote regularly for Lawyers USA and NC Lawyers Weekly. She also wrote a best seller and still requested book for the ABA Law Practice Division (“Easy Self Audits for the Busy Law Office”).

A UNC Law School Davis Society member and a three-year recipient of the Henry B. Brandis scholarship, Nancy's family including 3 children were her most treasuerd pillar of support during her law school days. She is a certified family financial and Superior Court mediator.
Successful mediation of partner, employee and family disputes ranks high among her professional passions. She was the charter Risk Manager/Vice President for NC Lawyers Mutual Liability and served as Management Counsel for the NC State Bar, as an advisory member of the State Bar’s ethics committee for many years and as an adjunct professor at Campbell’s School of Law.
Nancy highly values her years as a legal assistant and law office manager prior to law school. Her pre-law school positions "gifted" her with a unique understanding and depth of staff experience for her work with law firms.

Nancy’s informal, down-to-earth and holistic teaching methods form unique and rich
foundations for nurturing new ideas, creativity and lasting results. When clients come to her neck of the woods for their office retreats and individual coaching sessions (prepandemic), they quickly learn (and appreciate) Nancy’s #1 retreat rule of “No suits, no high heels = Higher Quality Brainstorming." She has learned that being a bit less formal, more comfortable and making time for relaxation and play plays a big part in jump starting the most productive and successful retreat sessions.

Nancy and her husband have resided on their mountainside ranch in the northwestern
mountains of North Carolina for 25+ years with their horses, miniature donkeys, dogs
and cats (many of which are special need and rescues).

Together, they treasure the never-boring experiences of running a small ranch and sharing the joys and fun with family, friends and clients. (Please note that 1st time visitors are usually spared barn
work, but are wise to bring their work boots on return visits).

Nancy also spends a good amount of time each year in their Chapel Hill, NC home where her familial and UNC collegiate roots run deep.
